Safer Recruitment

The school operates a separate safer recruitment process as part of the school’s Recruitment Policy.

On all recruitment panels, there is at least one member who has undertaken safer recruitment training.

The process checks the applicant's: identity, criminal record (enhanced DBS), mental and physical capacity, right to work in the U.K., professional qualification and seeks confirmation of the applicant’s experience and history through references.

We aim to ensure both safe and fair recruitment and selection of staff by:

  • Attracting the best possible candidates to vacancies
  • Ensuring that the recruitment process is fair and consistent for all
  • Undertaking thorough checks to deter identify and reject candidates who are unsuitable work with children.
